Research Interest:
My laboratory works on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of striated muscle injury, repair, and regeneration. We study the roles of proteins in triad structure of skeletal muscle in muscle physiology and diseases. We are also interested in different cell death pathways, such as apoptosis, autophagy, necroptosis, and pyrotptosis, in tissue injury. We try to identify regulatory factors of these pathways to promote tissue repair. Finally, my laboratory studies the role of novel non-coding RNAs in tissue injury and repair. My laboratory uses induced pluripotent stem cells, different transgenic mouse models, and gene editing approaches in our projects.
